Check the Simple Stuff First 1. Is the AC actually turned on? It sounds obvious, but check that the AC button is engaged, not just the fan. 2. Is the cabin air filter clogged? A severely clogged cabin filter restricts airflow and can make it feel like the AC isn't working even when it is. 3. Is the front of the condenser blocked? Leaves, debris, or bugs packed into the front grille can block airflow to the condenser and reduce cooling significantly.

Common AC Problems - Low refrigerant: The most frequent cause of warm AC. Refrigerant doesn't "run out" — if it's low, there's a leak that needs to be found and repaired, not just recharged. - Failing compressor: The compressor pumps refrigerant through the system.
